Guardian Program

 

Our guardian program is a unique opportunity for a special family to own one of our beautiful puppies that will potentially go on to continue our pedigrees as a breeding dog with Dharma’s Way Goldens.  Because our dogs are beloved members of the family, we do not believe in rehoming them after their breeding career is complete. Therefore, this collaboration helps us continue our lineages by placing a show-quality puppy in a loving, permanent home who will care for the dog its entire life.

 

Female dogs that are placed will spend most of their time with their family, and will only be at our home for 8 weeks approximately once a year to whelp and wean her puppies.  Male dogs will rarely need to leave their home for more than a few hours at a time.

 

Families who take this journey with us will have a front row seat to the Joy that breeding can bring, and will also have a compensation schedule as a thank-you for letting us continue our pedigrees through their beautiful puppies.

 

 

 

Ideal candidates would:

 

*Have a fenced yard

*Have a schedule allowing for a lot of time spent with puppy/dog

*Have experience with large breed dogs

*Would nave no other unaltered dogs in the house, male or female.

*Have moderate knowledge of dog obedience with willingness to train their puppy for dog shows and the Canine Good Citizen/Trick dog titles.

*Have willingness to have open communication with us and stay in touch frequently

*Take interest in having occasional play dates with us so that your dog can continue to view us as their second family.

*Open to learning and ongoing commitment to do what’s best for the breeding program and the guardian dog.
